As of 25 September 2017, Dr Bevan Roy is no longer practising at Ellerslie Medical Centre.
Since reducing our staff by one doctor, we have been aware that some patients experience long waits, which causes frustration to everyone involved. The situation has prompted us and the DHBs to comprehensively review our services and fees, with patient care our priority. In addition costs have risen significantly since our last fees increase several years ago. We expect the following changes to address some of the issues we have identified.
- Please see one of our highly trained and experienced nurses for issues such as sick notes, medication queries, discussion of blood results, blood pressure checks, cervical smears, and ear syringes etc.
- Consultations with doctors will be limited to 15 minutes. Extended consultations are chargeable at double the rate.
- We are now accepting new patients as our restructure is well underway and services are as usual.
- Doctor’s consultation fees for adults are $49 from 1 July 2017, and $39 for those 13-17 years of age. For adults with a Community Services Card, High Use Health Card or University Student Card there is a $5 discount for all consultations. Under 13’s remain free. Please see our fees page. These changes have been authorized by the DHB and ProCare after a fees review process during our restructure.
